Welcome to Good Shepherd's home on the Internet. We thank you for making a "virtual visit," here on our Website. We are nestled in the northwest corner of Genesee County in a small town called Montrose. The faithful people in Montrose began their work to build a church back in 1979. Their efforts bloomed on May 4, 1981, when the parish family celebrated their first Liturgy together in their new church. Our current 320-household parish is known as a small, friendly, hospitable and life-giving community. In the fall of 1991, I cheerfully accepted the role as Pastoral Coordinator for Good Shepherd. Everyone in this parish family is special to me and I have been blessed in working with such faith-filled members. You are special to us, too. We are happy you have met us here, however, we would be pleased even more to meet you in person during one of our weekend Liturgies. Join us in worshipping our Risen Lord on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm, or join us on a Sunday morning to share faith at 10am. I invite you to return to our site as often as you would like and remember that you will find the latest news and information about our parish family right here. If you would like to address a special question or comment to me, I'd be happy to respond. You may e-mail me at goodshep@centurytel.net - I will respond to all inquiries. May the Good Shepherd bless you and your family and your spiritual journey as Catholics, "virtual Catholics", that is! With Faithful Gratitude, Sr. Jo Pastoral Coordinator P.S. Our site is featuring articles from the Diocese of Lansing and from FAITH Magazine. Please enjoy your visit, make yourself at home, and come back often. We are adding more information all the time!

A vision of Heaven
As Dale McKay was facing death, he spoke to writer Nancy Schertzing about his feelings and his hopes for heaven. Later, Nancy spoke with Dale’s widow, Ellen, who shared the joy of their marriage and the moving experience of Dale’s death. Their story is filled with love and hope that speaks to all of us. In the Know with Father Joe Dear Fr. Joe: What is a mortal sin? If I commit one, do I automatically go to hell?
